Womens Cricket Women from our four member institutions (Bradford College, Leeds Metropolitan University, University of Bradford and University of Leeds) have the chance to play for their own institution in the BUSA competition, as well as taking part in an intensive training programme as part of the UCCE squad. Indeed one of our former students, ex-University of Bradford & England player Kathryn Leng, actually represented the men's team in a couple of fixtures. As with the men, one-to-one coaching is available from the Head Coach and playing membership of the MCC is also open to female cricketers. In June 2006 two members of the University of Leeds team, Lauren Griffiths and Clare Hirst represented the 'other' MCCU teams in a challenge match on the Nursery Ground at Lord's against Loughborough Women. The application procedure for women is exactly the same as for men (see our page on How to Apply).
